Homeopathic Weight Loss Remedy Is Out

Homeopathic weight loss remedy is out, according to Federal regulators. Several companies are selling a remedy that uses protein from the human placenta and the Feds want them to stop. The FDA has sent out letters to seven companies warning them to stop advertising this weight loss remedy because if used as directed, it could be dangerous.

These products are dispensed as sprays, pellets or drops. Usually homeopathic remedies are ignored as harmless because they are highly diluted drugs that are in such tiny amounts that they are basically ineffective. Proteins used to make this drug are taken from the human placenta which contains chorionic gonadotropin and is also found in the urine of pregnant women.

The crackdown is because this weight loss drug has unsupported claims as to it's effectiveness. HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin, products for weight loss are not approved by the FDA. Claims of about 1 pound of weight loss per day are unrealistic and use of HCG can cause a myriad of other health problems.

The kicker here is that the product requires that you engage in a calorie restricted diet, “to make it more effective.” The FDA claims that 500 calories per day will make you lose weight without using this dangerous product. It's all smoke and mirrors for these drug companies to make money.

Always remember to contact your doctor if you decide to use HCG because he / she knows best. Even the 500 calories per day should be discussed because your bodies metabolism is very important.
